While 2020 has brought with it its fair share of challenges, it’s also helped us come to appreciate and feel grateful for what really matters; our loved ones, our community and the places we live. During the first lockdown, communities came together to help those who were isolating and struggling with food deliveries, Captain Tom cheered up the nation with his selfless work raising money for the NHS, and many of us took comfort in having our own four walls around us to keep us safe.
Unfortunately, however, this wasn’t the case for so many disadvantaged families and those enduring homelessness in Newcastle and around the country. So, as winter sets in and coronavirus uncertainties continue, instead of giving out Christmas cards, we at Projector have decided to donate essential items to The People’s Kitchen in Newcastle.
A fantastic charity who’ve been working tirelessly for 35 years and throughout the pandemic to support those in need, The People’s Kitchen has made it their mission to ensure everyone can spend Christmas with a hot meal, in a warm environment, surrounded by a social network – and this year’s no different.
The difference, however, is that this year the charity – run entirely by dedicated volunteers – is limited with what they can realistically provide to those disadvantaged families and individuals in Newcastle due to ongoing Government restrictions. So, they’ve been asking for jackets, waterproofs, dog coats, food donations (for both people and pooches!) to help keep as many people as they can, safe, warm and fed this festive season.
Particularly this year, we know how thankful we’ve all been to have our homes, food and family around us to get us through the toughest of times – therefore, we’re so pleased to be able to do something small to ensure others can benefit from some of this too. To help, we’ve bought and donated a number of items on the list in the hope of making someone’s Christmas a little less worrying this year.

Finally, we’d like to thank our Clients, Suppliers and Partners for your varied and valued support this last year, and from all of us here at Projector, we’d like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Stay safe, look after one another and we can’t wait to see you again in 2021.
